Araghchi: Iran–Azerbaijan Relations Must Be Strengthened
Rokna Political Desk: During his visit to Baku, Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Ilham Aliyev and exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, political cooperation, neighborhood ties, and the management of mutual issues.
According to Rokna, quoting the Government Information Center, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who traveled to Baku for consultations with senior officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met and held talks today (Monday) with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In this meeting, a range of bilateral issues was discussed, including the course of political interactions, matters related to neighborhood relations, and mechanisms for managing relations between the two countries.
The Iranian foreign minister, while conveying the warm greetings of President Pezeshkian to the President of Azerbaijan, emphasized the determination and will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen and expand its relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all areas of mutual interest, noting the deep and long-standing ties between the two nations.
Araghchi, highlighting the importance of a long-term outlook in neighborhood relations, underscored the role of continuous diplomatic consultations in resolving misunderstandings and managing issues between the two sides.
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while conveying his greetings to President Pezeshkian, described the latter’s visit to Baku as a historic trip that played an important role in enhancing mutual understanding and improving relations between the two countries.
Expressing satisfaction with the growing trend of bilateral relations, Aliyev stressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to make full use of all existing capacities to expand relations.
In the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister also elaborated on the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding regional developments.
