Larijani Meets with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister; Iran and Pakistan Are Two Key Influential Countries in the Region
Rokna Political Desk: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, held his first official session in Islamabad with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
According to the government’s official information portal, upon arrival at the meeting venue, Larijani and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
Larijani’s first working session in Islamabad began with a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister. In his opening remarks, the Pakistani Foreign Minister congratulated Ali Larijani on his appointment as Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
He emphasized the importance of the brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan and referred to his recent meetings with Iran’s Foreign Minister and other senior officials of the two countries.
During the first day of his visit to Pakistan, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council is scheduled to meet with the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, and the President of Pakistan.
Upon arrival in Islamabad, Larijani told reporters that Pakistan holds a significant position in the region and stressed that cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in various fields contributes to peace and stability in the region.
Key issues on the agenda of Dr. Larijani’s consultations with senior Pakistani officials include reviewing the latest developments in bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, following up on joint agreements, regional and international developments, and matters of importance to the Islamic world.
Before departing for Islamabad, Larijani wrote on his X account that he was traveling to Pakistan, a friendly and brotherly country in the region, noting: “Iranians do not forget that during the 12-day war of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, the people of Pakistan stood alongside the Iranian nation.”
Larijani emphasized that Iran and Pakistan are two important and influential countries for sustainable security in the region, and that Iran always values the brotherly relations of regional countries.
Ali Larijani last visited Pakistan eight years ago (early January 2018), when he traveled to Islamabad as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly to attend the Conference of Parliament Speakers from six countries.
