Lieberman

Avigdor Lieberman, the hard-line Israeli politician who leads the Yisrael Beiteinu party, sharply criticized the UN Security Council resolution regarding the Gaza peace plan, alleging that the development will lead to Saudi Arabia going nuclear.

According to Rokna, citing Al Jazeera, Lieberman wrote while criticizing the Israeli cabinet: “What has happened is the result of the failed conduct of the Israeli government.” He continued: “This decision will lead to the creation of a Palestinian state, a nuclear program for Saudi Arabia, and [enable] Turkey and Saudi Arabia to obtain F-35 fighter jets.”

He further stated: “This is setting fire to Israel’s security. The face of the Middle East is changing, and this is not in our favor.”

Lieberman’s remarks come as the UN Security Council approved the U.S. cease-fire plan for Gaza and endorsed the establishment and deployment of an international peacekeeping force in the territory.
