Netanyahu Denies Entry to Several Cabinet Ministers; Some Israeli Ministers Arrive Late by Minutes

According to Rokna, the website of Israeli television network Kan reported that the closed doors of the cabinet meeting hall caused commotion and controversy on site.

Informed sources at the office of the Israeli Prime Minister told the network that these ministers had arrived several minutes late and, by order of Benjamin Netanyahu, were prevented from entering the meeting room.

The report added that the protesting ministers even engaged in verbal confrontations with some staff members of the Prime Minister’s office who were executing the Prime Minister’s orders, and after several exchanges, they were eventually allowed into the session.

Among the ministers who remained outside were the Justice Minister and the Defense Minister of Israel.

According to Netanyahu’s directive, at 11:00 a.m., entry was denied to any ministers who had not yet arrived, and a significant number of Israeli cabinet ministers were kept outside the meeting hall for some time.

Some media outlets also reported that the entry of some ministers while others remained outside created notable tension, with ministers initially protesting that Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s Foreign Minister, was allowed to enter despite the session having begun. It was claimed that he was only one minute late.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office: given the repeated delays and absences of ministers in recent weeks, the Prime Minister has implemented stricter disciplinary measures in cabinet meetings and officially conveyed his stringent orders to the staff of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Under the new directives, any minister who arrives late or is absent without permission will be barred from presenting any reports or requests for decisions for their ministry in the following week.

Furthermore, any minister who is late or absent without permission twice may, at the discretion of the Prime Minister, be prohibited from undertaking official missions outside (occupied Palestine).
