Was Israel’s Attack on Iran Triggered by the Prolonged Iran-U.S. Negotiations?
Rokna Political Desk: Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an interview with Majid Tafreshi, stated: “I do not agree with the notion that the prolongation of the negotiations led to a military attack on Iran. The JCPOA talks were conducted directly, but reaching an agreement took considerable time.”
Baghaei went on to say: “We cannot assume that Iran’s nuclear issue should be resolved hastily merely because the other side might come under pressure.”
He added: “In the ongoing negotiations, we have reached an understanding with the United States on the general framework and even on part of the details. How far, after all, is Muscat or Rome from Washington that the American side would repeatedly change its position?”
