North Korea’s Nuclear Disarmament: A Major Challenge to Global Peace

North Korea reiterated that discussions about denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula are “an unattainable dream” that will never be realized, even if such talks are repeated a thousand times.

According to Rokna, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced on Friday that the denuclearization of the peninsula — a topic South Korea said it intended to discuss with China at a meeting on Saturday — is nothing more than an “unrealistic fantasy.”

Pak Myong Ho, North Korea’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated, “South Korea tries to raise the issue of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula at every possible opportunity.”

In a statement published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), he added that Seoul’s insistence on denying North Korea’s status as a nuclear state and its continued talk of the illusion of achieving denuclearization merely demonstrates South Korea’s blatant ignorance of reality.

He continued, “Even if they repeat the talk of denuclearization a hundred or a thousand times, they will never be able to achieve this impossible dream, and we will show them this clearly and patiently.”
