Israel Warned by Trump Envoy: Do Not Jeopardize Peace Plan

According to a U.S. source cited by Israel Hayom, the special envoy of Donald Trump informed Israeli officials on Sunday that actions against Hamas should be conducted in a way that does not undermine the agreement.

According to Rokna, citing Israel Hayom, that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner spoke with Israeli Minister Ron Dermer on Sunday regarding the current situation. They urged that Israel’s response to Hamas be measured and cautioned against any reaction that could jeopardize the Trump peace initiative.

The outlet further reported that in a conversation last week between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, Netanyahu outlined a series of potential actions against Hamas—an indication of planned measures by Israel and the United States against the people of Gaza following a prisoner exchange.

Israel Hayom noted that during the discussion, Netanyahu anticipated that Hamas might breach the agreement and attempt to expand the borders without fully violating the rules. Today, Israel has informed the Americans of its planned countermeasures, though without providing detailed specifics, while making it clear that a ground offensive will not be resumed at this stage.
