Putin: Israel Has No Interest in Conflict with Iran
Rokna Political Desk: Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Israel has no desire to engage in conflict with Iran and stressed the importance of a diplomatic solution to nuclear issues.
According to Rokna, Putin stated that Iran’s nuclear program can only be addressed through diplomatic channels and that no other logical option exists.
Emphasis on Diplomatic Resolution
Putin said, “The situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear program can only be resolved through diplomacy and negotiations. There is no other rational solution to this matter. We are in close contact with our Iranian partners and have observed their interest in achieving acceptable solutions and resuming positive and constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”
Meeting with IAEA Director General
The Russian president also referred to his recent meeting with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the IAEA, saying, “The Director General recently visited our country. We had extensive discussions on this matter. He also emphasized that the Iranian side is eager to resolve all existing issues.”
Russia Relays Message from Israel to Iran
Putin further addressed tensions between Iran and Israel, stating, “We continue to maintain communications with Israel and have received messages from Israeli officials conveying their position to their Iranian counterparts: Israel emphasizes the peaceful resolution of disputes and has no interest in any confrontation.”
Reference to Past Attacks Between Iran and Israel
On June 13, 2025, Israel carried out attacks on Iranian territory, which escalated a few days later with US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. In response, Iran targeted Israeli military bases and a US military facility in Qatar with drone and missile attacks.
