Iran: Any Decision on Gaza Ceasefire Rests with the Palestinian People and Resistance
Rokna Political Desk: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement on the issue of the ceasefire plan in Gaza.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official statement regarding the proposed Gaza ceasefire plan, emphasizing that any decision on the matter lies solely within the authority of the Palestinian people and the resistance movement.
According to Rokna, the statement published on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the “legal and moral responsibility of the international community” to confront the ongoing genocide in Gaza under the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. It also underscored the duty of all governments to support “the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian nation for self-determination and liberation from Israeli occupation, apartheid, and colonialism.”
The statement added that the Islamic Republic of Iran “has consistently supported any initiative that would bring an end to ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and crimes against humanity in Gaza, while facilitating the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.”
While acknowledging what it called the “dangerous aspects” of the current ceasefire proposal, Tehran issued a renewed warning against Israel’s “record of deceit and obstructionism,” particularly in light of what it described as the regime’s “expansionist and racist agenda.”
“Iran considers any decision in this regard to fall exclusively within the jurisdiction of the Palestinian people and the resistance,” the statement continued, adding that Tehran “welcomes any decision by them that would ensure an end to the genocide of Palestinians, the withdrawal of occupying Israeli forces from Gaza, respect for the Palestinian right to self-determination, the entry of humanitarian aid, and the reconstruction of Gaza.”
The ministry also stressed that ending the current atrocities in Gaza “does not exempt governments and competent international bodies from their legal and judicial duty to prosecute the Israeli regime for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, and to hold perpetrators and commanders accountable to end decades of impunity.”
Concluding the statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed hope for the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and reaffirmed Iran’s readiness “to actively participate in humanitarian relief efforts for the oppressed Palestinian people.”
