Netanyahu Never Sought an Agreement with Hamas, Says Former U.S. Official
Rekna Political Desk: Ned Price, a former spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, has revealed that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, deliberately undermined efforts to secure Hamas’s acceptance of a peace proposal advanced by the Biden administration.

According to Rokna, Price wrote on X that Prime Minister Netanyahu did everything in his power to eliminate the chances that Hamas would agree — from altering the language of the text to delivering fiery remarks in Hebrew.
The former State Department spokesperson in the Biden administration added that Hamas did not in fact formally “agree.” Nonetheless, Price suggested that Donald Trump’s obsessive desire for a Nobel Prize might — oddly enough — have placed the parties in the right position. He stressed that the war must end, that Palestinian civilians must be able to live in peace, and that hostages must be returned home.
The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, in response to Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal, agreed to a complete cessation of hostilities, a prisoner exchange, and an independent administration for Gaza, while calling for future matters concerning Gaza to be addressed within the framework of Palestinian national interests.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday evening local time: “Based on the statement Hamas has now released, I believe they are ready for a lasting peace. Israel should immediately cease bombing Gaza so that we can rapidly and safely free the hostages! At this time it is very dangerous to do so. We are now discussing the details that need to be worked out. This is not only about Gaza; it is about a peace in the Middle East that we have long sought.”
United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres welcomed Hamas’s conditional response to President Trump’s Gaza plan and described it as encouraging.
