G7 Calls on Iran to Restore IAEA Access, Resume Direct Talks with U.S.
Rokna Political Desk:The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) nations on Wednesday issued a joint statement calling on Iran to restore access for inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to its nuclear facilities and to re-engage in direct negotiations with the United States.

According to Rokna, the communiqué, released by the Canadian Foreign Ministry, alleges that Tehran has failed to uphold its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
On that basis, the G7 ministers further declared that they support the re-imposition of United Nations Security Council sanctions against Iran, urging “all UN member states” to fully implement and comply with those sanctions and related restrictions.
The statement reads: “We call on Iran to refrain from any provocative actions, to immediately enter into direct negotiations with the United States, and to demonstrate substantial progress toward the full implementation of its non-proliferation obligations.”
The G7 foreign ministers also stressed that Iran “must resume IAEA inspections of its nuclear facilities.”
