Two Israelis Arrested on Suspicion of Spying for Iran
Rokna Political Desk: Two Israeli citizens have been arrested on charges of espionage for Iran. Maor Kringel, 26, is accused of maintaining contact with Iranian intelligence operatives, receiving payments in digital currencies, and conducting security-related missions under their guidance.

In a joint operation carried out by the Israel Security Agency (Shabak) and the Lahav 433 police operational unit, Kringel, a resident of Holon, was arrested in August on suspicion of committing security offenses, including liaising with Iranian intelligence agents and performing security missions under their direction. Some media reports also indicate that the arrested individual is a reserve member of the Israeli military.
According to Rokna, citing Maariv, investigations conducted by Shabak in collaboration with Lahav 433 revealed that since early 2025, Kringel had been in contact with Iranian intelligence agents and undertook various security tasks under their supervision. He reportedly carried out missions involving photography of military bases and public locations in Israel and, during the twelve-day conflict, independently requested additional assignments from the Iranian handlers.
Investigators further discovered that Kringel was in contact with personnel from Iran’s special recruitment units, which openly identify themselves as part of Iran’s intelligence services and actively attempt to recruit Israelis across their network. Kringel allegedly received payments in digital currencies in exchange for executing these security assignments.
Additionally, Kringel attempted to recruit other individuals to carry out missions on behalf of Iranian intelligence. As the investigation progressed, a second suspect, Tal Amram, 26, also a resident of Holon, was arrested on suspicion of contact with a foreign agent and carrying out missions under their direction.
Israeli media reported yesterday that phone calls had been made to citizens, during which they were urged to cooperate with Iranian security agencies.
