Netanyahu to U.S. Lawmakers: Israel Shapes Your Daily Life From Mobile Phones to Food

According to Rokna, Netanyahu told members of Congress visiting the occupied territories that, “If you have a mobile phone, you are carrying a piece of Israel with you.” He emphasized that Americans should recognize the benefits they derive from Israel, citing food, medicine, and even common produce.

Rejecting claims that Israel is increasingly isolated due to mounting international criticism over the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Netanyahu dismissed such assertions as false. “Some countries have suspended the transfer of weapons components,” he admitted, before adding: “But can we overcome this situation? Yes, we can—because we are good at producing weapons.”

The Israeli prime minister also expressed gratitude for the bipartisan support extended to Israel by the United States over the years. “We appreciate the fact that American support has remained steadfast despite attempts to erode it,” Netanyahu stated.

Highlighting Israel’s exports to the United States, Netanyahu asked the congressional delegation: “Do you have a mobile phone? Do you have one here? If so, you are holding a piece of Israel. The mobile phones, the food you eat—even the cherry tomato you consume—do you know where it was developed? I myself do not like cherry tomatoes, but this is an Israeli product, just like many other things.”

Netanyahu further stressed that Israel will ultimately achieve greater independence from foreign suppliers, projecting a future of reduced reliance on external sources.
