Mohammad Eslami Travels to Vienna for Annual IAEA Gathering

According to the Government Information Center, Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, along with his accompanying delegation, will participate tomorrow (Monday) in the 69th General Conference of the IAEA.

Prior to his departure for Vienna, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization told reporters: “We will use this opportunity to present our views and to highlight the developments that have affected Iran’s nuclear industry over recent months under the shadow of the Agency’s inaction.”

In an interview with IRIB, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, noting that the 69th General Conference will begin tomorrow in Vienna, stated: “This meeting is one of the important annual sessions of the United Nations system, in which the Atomic Energy Organization, as the representative of the Islamic Republic, participates every year.”

Mohammad Eslami added: “This conference provides an opportunity to express our positions, especially with regard to the circumstances that have taken place in contravention of the UN Charter, the regulations and rules, and the Statute of the Agency, affecting our nuclear industry.”

The Head of the Atomic Energy Organization further declared that in this conference “the inaction of the Agency and the excessive demands of hostile countries will also be announced.” He said: “These are issues which have prompted Iran to submit a resolution for consideration at the Conference, accompanied by consultations and follow-ups to ensure that this matter is placed on the agenda and shared with other countries at the meeting.”

Eslami said: “Also on the agenda are the presentation of Iran’s situation and multilateral meetings with various countries that maintain nuclear cooperation with Iran. We are confident that this presence, the expression of our views, and the presentation of developments that contravened laws and regulations under the shadow of the Agency’s inaction, have created a valuable opportunity for us to provide the world with a clear and candid narrative.”
