Board of Governors Meeting on Monday to Focus on Iran
Rokna Political Desk: Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative to international organizations, announced in a post on social media platform X that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors will convene on Monday with Iran at the center of discussions.

According to Rokna, Ulyanov stated: “The September session of the IAEA Board of Governors will begin on Monday. There is no doubt that Iran and its nuclear program will be the main focus.”
Diplomatic sources further revealed that the Islamic Republic of Iran intends to submit a draft resolution at the upcoming IAEA General Conference, condemning attacks on nuclear facilities as unacceptable. These sources confirmed that the document is currently being drafted and is expected to be presented at the forthcoming session. Ulyanov, Russia’s ambassador and permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, confirmed this in his post on X.
Responding to a critical message from a Wall Street Journal correspondent, who accused Russia of supporting Iran’s proposed resolution in the Board of Governors, Ulyanov clarified: “He (the WSJ reporter) apparently does not even understand the difference between the IAEA Board of Governors and the General Conference, where Iran intends to present a draft resolution on the unacceptability of attacks on nuclear facilities.”
He added: “Anti-Russian propagandists would do well to be better prepared before engaging in debates, so as to avoid such levels of irony and contradiction.”
According to the announced schedule, the IAEA General Conference will open in Vienna on September 14 and continue for five days.
