Putin Invites Zelenskyy to Moscow Amid Heightened Ukraine Conflict

According to Rokna Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to meet in Moscow for peace talks, contingent upon Zelenskyy’s willingness to participate, the Kremlin said.

Putin stressed that any such meeting must be carefully prepared to ensure meaningful outcomes, highlighting the importance of a structured diplomatic dialogue. According to Kremlin officials, the invitation follows discussions in which U.S. President Donald Trump previously suggested a similar meeting during his talks in Alaska.

However, Ukrainian officials have rejected the invitation, calling it “unacceptable” and questioning its sincerity amid ongoing Russian military operations. The Kremlin’s offer comes as Russian forces continue intensive attacks across Ukraine, including recent large-scale drone and missile strikes.

While Putin expressed readiness for negotiations, he also warned that without diplomatic progress, Russia might pursue its objectives through continued military measures. Analysts say the invitation adds complexity to international efforts to achieve a resolution to the ongoing conflict, as tensions between Kyiv and Moscow remain high.
