When Will Vice President Take Over? Trump’s Golf Outing Fails to End Speculation

Following the viral hashtags #TRUMPISDEAD and #TRUMPDIED, which fueled speculation about the U.S. President’s death or serious illness, Trump’s public appearance in Virginia appeared to quell the rumors. On Saturday, he was seen at the Trump National Golf Club with his grandchildren.

However, his absence from public view in recent days and the sudden cancellation of certain White House engagements continue to raise questions regarding his health and possible security considerations. The White House had no major public events scheduled for the past weekend, listing only internal briefings. This prompted some analysts to speculate that the President’s schedule was altered for security reasons, and that he may have opted for a brief holiday.

In an interview with USA Today, Vice President J.D. Vance emphasized that Trump is in full health:
"He is the last person to go to bed at night and the first to wake up and start work in the morning. Unexpected disasters can always occur, but I am confident the President will complete his term and achieve great accomplishments for the American people."

Vance further stated that he is prepared to assume responsibility in case of an emergency but immediately added that there is no serious threat to Trump’s health and that recent rumors are “baseless and exaggerated.”

In recent days, images of bruising on Trump’s hands and swelling around his ankles were circulated. Physicians attributed these to Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), a common condition among elderly individuals, which Trump’s doctor described as “benign and manageable.”

Thus, Trump’s return to the golf course and his vice president’s assurance of his health largely quelled the heated social media rumors, although speculation persists regarding the potential cancellation of White House events for security reasons.
