Iranian Ambassador in Beijing:
Pezeshkian to Travel to China Tomorrow for Four-Day Visit
Rokna Political Desk: The Iranian Ambassador to China announced that Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will travel to China tomorrow (Sunday, 9 Shahrivar 1404 in the Iranian calendar) at the official invitation of his Chinese counterpart to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the so-called SCO Plus meeting.

According to Rokna, the Iranian Ambassador to China stated that President Pezeshkian will arrive in China to attend the SCO Summit, the SCO Plus meeting, and also the grand Chinese military parade held to mark the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in World War II.
Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli, referring to the importance of the SCO and SCO Plus meetings, said that ten heads of SCO member states, along with ten leaders from observer countries and ten secretaries-general of international regional organizations, including the UN Secretary-General, will attend the summit.
The Ambassador and the Special Representative of the Iranian President in China emphasized that Iran, as an active and effective member of the SCO, has participated in all sessions of this organization. This year, under China’s chairmanship of the SCO, more than 100 meetings and specialized committees were held, with the Islamic Republic of Iran participating at the ministerial level and even at the level of heads of branches of government.
Rahmani-Fazli also referred to the visits of Ejei to China for specialized SCO meetings and the visits of various ministers, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Agriculture, Communications, Sports, Health, and Science, over the past year, describing this as evidence of Iran’s active engagement in the organization.
The Ambassador noted that the annual SCO summit concludes with the participation of heads of state, during which important organizational priorities are decided at the leadership level, with outcomes that could be highly significant.
The Special Representative of the Iranian President in China added that during his visit, President Pezeshkian will hold meetings with other heads of state, including the President of Russia, and undertake visits within China.
Rahmani-Fazli highlighted that the presence of the Iranian President as a special guest at the grand Victory Day parade in Beijing, where China will display its latest military and defense technologies, underscores the close and constructive relations between the two countries.
The Iranian Ambassador conveyed that the President’s participation in the summit represents opposition to unilateralism in the world. It demonstrates that Iran opposes coercion, bullying, and unilateralism at all levels and at all times, and affirms the principles of convergence, multilateralism, and mutual cooperation in the fields of development, security, and peace, both regionally and globally.
He further noted that at a time when European countries, despite their commitments and agreements under the JCPOA, are attempting to increase pressure on Iran under the so-called “snapback mechanism,” the President’s participation in these meetings demonstrates growing convergence among Iran, China, Russia, and other SCO members.
Rahmani-Fazli also referred to China’s support for Iran during the Twelve-Day Sacred Defense, noting that both China and the SCO were highly influential at that time, taking strong political and practical positions in support of Iran at the UN Security Council and the United Nations.
In conclusion, the Iranian Ambassador in China expressed hope that, in line with the core spirit of the SCO, which is based on security, peace, and development for all, Iran will be able to actively participate in the organization and cooperate with other countries to benefit from security, peace, development, and progress across various sectors.
