Iranian and Saudi Foreign Ministers Emphasize Expanding Cooperation to Strengthen Regional Stability
Rokna Political Desk: The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held talks and consultations with his Saudi counterpart.

On Monday, August 24, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of the OIC foreign ministers.
According to Rokna, citing the Government Information Center, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in continuation of his diplomatic consultations on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers — convened at the initiative of Iran and several other countries to address the situation in Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza in Jeddah — held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
In this meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the concerning situation in Gaza and the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people. They emphasized the need for greater coordination among Islamic countries to immediately halt the aggression, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, and counter the dangerous expansionist projects of this regime.
During the talks, the latest developments in bilateral relations between Tehran and Riyadh were also discussed and assessed. Both parties, while expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of recent interactions, stressed the need for the continuation of consultations and the strengthening of cooperation in political, economic, security, and regional fields.
The two sides further underscored the important role of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia in reinforcing regional stability and shaping an order based on dialogue, mutual respect, and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
It should be noted that on Sunday, August 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the head of a diplomatic delegation, traveled to Jeddah to participate in the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the OIC member states. The objective of this meeting was to examine the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, coordinate the provision of urgent aid, and also to review the legal and political dimensions of the Zionist regime’s intention for the permanent occupation of Gaza.
Araghchi Meets Malaysian Foreign Minister
On the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers in Jeddah, the foreign ministers of Iran and Malaysia also held a meeting and discussions.
According to this report, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mohamad Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, held talks on the sidelines of the OIC extraordinary ministerial meeting in Jeddah.
