Szijjártó to Zelensky: Do Not Threaten Hungary!
Rokna Political Desk: Hungary’s Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, criticized Ukraine’s actions against Russian oil pipelines to Hungary, urging President Volodymyr Zelensky to halt threats and attacks on his country’s energy security and to adhere to the principles of respecting state sovereignty.

Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Foreign Minister, in remarks referring to recent Kyiv attacks on Russian oil pipelines to Hungary, addressed a message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling for an end to threats against his country.
According to Rokna, Szijjártó posted on his social media account X (formerly Twitter), stating that Hungary considers sovereignty and territorial integrity as fundamental principles of international politics and respects them, adding: “Therefore, we expect other countries to adopt the same approach.”
He also referred to Ukraine’s recent drone and missile attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline facilities, which caused a temporary disruption in oil transfers to Hungary, and added: “In recent days, Ukraine has conducted serious attacks on our energy supply, while attacking a country’s energy security is, in fact, an attack on that country’s sovereignty.”
Szijjártó further emphasized that Hungary has no role in the war between Russia and Ukraine and that this conflict should not be used as an excuse to violate Hungary’s sovereignty. He stressed: “We call on the President of Ukraine to stop his threats against our country and to end reckless attacks on Hungary’s energy security.”
Ukraine targeted a key pumping station on the Druzhba oil pipeline, disrupting Russian oil supplies to both Hungary and Slovakia.
On Friday (31 Mordad), Ukraine announced that the Unecha pumping station in the Bryansk region of Russia, part of the Druzhba oil pipeline transporting Russian oil to Europe, was targeted, disrupting oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia. Robert Brodoy, commander of Ukraine’s drone forces, confirmed the attack.
Alexander Bogomaz, governor of Bryansk, wrote in a Telegram post that Ukraine carried out the attack using HIMARS rockets and drones. Following the attack, the governments of Hungary and Slovakia warned the European Commission in a letter that Russian oil supplies would be cut for at least five days.
The foreign ministers of the two countries separately emphasized: “The geographic and physical reality is that without this pipeline, sufficient energy supply is practically impossible.”
