North Korea Tests New Missile; Direct Response to U.S.-South Korea Drills
Rokna Political Desk: The leader of North Korea oversaw the testing of new air-defense missiles, in a move directly responding to joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises and emphasizing the country’s commitment to strengthening its military capabilities.

A North Korean state-run media outlet reported that Kim Jong-un supervised the firing of new air-defense missiles to test their combat capabilities.
According to KCNA, this report was released ahead of the Monday meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Earlier this month, Kim Jong-un condemned joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises, describing them as an attempt to maintain confrontational and hostile behavior toward North Korea, and pledged to accelerate the development of nuclear weapons.
The official North Korean news agency stated that the new air-defense systems demonstrated “rapid response” capabilities against aerial targets such as attack drones and cruise missiles.
