Nasirzadeh: Iran Did Not Use the Qassem Basir, Its Most Precise Missile, in the 12-Day War + Video

Minister of Defense Amir Nasirzadeh stressed that the country’s primary focus remains on strengthening missile capabilities. He noted that after the 12-day war, other military domains may gain additional priority; however, the growth and advancement of missile capabilities remain at the forefront.

Main Priority in Developing Military Capabilities

Nasirzadeh stated that during the 12-day war, the primary emphasis of Iranian forces was placed on air power and the exchange of fire. He added that both Iran and the opposing side made extensive use of air power. This power, he explained, encompassed the employment of aircraft and missiles, which constitute two key elements of aerial strength.

Limited Use of Advanced Missiles

The Minister of Defense underlined that Iran did not employ the full extent of its missile arsenal in the recent war. He referred to newly developed missiles equipped with advanced warheads and possessing highly sophisticated capabilities, but which were not utilized in this conflict. Among these, Nasirzadeh specifically mentioned the Qassem Basir missile, which, according to him, is considered Iran’s most precise precision-strike missile, and yet remained unused.

Defense Minister’s Office Targeted

Amir Nasirzadeh also revealed that his office was targeted by a missile strike during the 12-day war. This incident, he stressed, reflected the intensity and scope of the conflict and drew attention to the significant military capabilities of both sides.
