Behind Israel’s Plan:
Is the U.S. Being Drawn into a Major War with Iran?
Rokna Political Desk: Israel, by intensifying military maneuvers and threatening Iran’s leader, seeks to draw the United States into a full-scale war with Tehran.

According to Rokna, more than two months have passed since the start of direct confrontations between Tehran and Tel Aviv, and these tensions have become more complicated with the increase in Israeli officials’ threats against Iran. The Israeli military has also gone on high alert to prepare for any potential developments.
According to news media, on Monday, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, directly threatened Iran’s leader in response to the publication of images of an “alleged list” of Israeli officials. Some analysts interpret these statements as part of Israel’s efforts to escalate tensions in the region.
The Prospect of Full-Scale War with the U.S.
Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President of the American Quincy Institute, wrote in an analysis that Israel’s recent actions are not limited to Iran’s nuclear program. She believes that Tel Aviv’s underlying goal is to draw the United States into military confrontation with Iran. According to her, these efforts are part of a larger strategy to weaken the Islamic Republic and create conditions similar to those in Syria or Lebanon for Iran.
Analysts further emphasize that the likelihood of a direct confrontation between Iran and Israel in the coming weeks has increased. The Atlantic Council has also warned in a report that Israel may seek new attacks to “destroy Iran’s nuclear program.” Some experts believe these developments strengthen the probability of a second wave of attacks by both the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
Israel’s Five-Month Plan for Gaza
Peace talks and prisoner exchanges between Hamas and Israel have reached a deadlock, darkening Gaza’s future. Following this failure, Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s security cabinet have formulated a plan to occupy Gaza. This plan includes the complete relocation of Gaza’s residents to the southern part of the strip and extensive military operations to eliminate Hamas’s influence.
However, this plan has faced severe criticism within Israel. Knesset members have warned that such an occupation could impose heavy costs on Israel’s economy. Internationally, Netanyahu’s adventurous policies have drawn protests from European countries. France has announced its intention to officially recognize the “Palestinian state” in September, a move that could alter regional dynamics.
Israeli Military Maneuvers
In recent days, the Israeli army conducted a large-scale air exercise simulating simultaneous attacks from multiple fronts. Commanded by the Chief of Staff, this exercise demonstrated the country’s military readiness for various scenarios in the region.
Efforts to Reinstate Sanctions Against Iran
The three European countries that are members of the JCPOA sent a joint letter to the United Nations Security Council, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining diplomacy on Iran’s nuclear issue. With some provisions of the 2025 nuclear agreement approaching expiration, these countries warned that if no agreement is reached, they are prepared to activate the mechanism to reinstate sanctions.
Analysts believe that the potential return of UN Security Council sanctions against Iran could be seen by Israel and Netanyahu as an opportunity to intensify their military plans against Tehran.
The Role of Psychological Warfare
Some believe that actors close to Israel are attempting to push Donald Trump toward making aggressive decisions against Iran again. Meanwhile, Tel Aviv is using media tools and psychological warfare to influence Iranian public opinion and incite internal protests.
Iran’s Response to Threats
In response to Israeli and U.S. threats, Iran is simultaneously focusing on diplomacy and strengthening its defense capabilities. News sources report the possible start of informal negotiations between Iran and the U.S. At the same time, Iran’s cooperation with China to enhance air defense systems and missile stockpiles indicates Tehran’s preparation for any serious threat.
In this complex situation, it appears that both Iran and Israel are preparing for potential confrontations, while the political and military climate in the region remains tense.
