United States Welcomes Lebanese Government’s Move to Disarm the Resistance
Rokna Political Desk: The Lebanese government, in a historic and bold decision aimed at fully implementing international agreements, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, has taken practical steps toward the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of the year—an initiative welcomed by the United States.

According to citing Al Jazeera English, Tom Barrack wrote in a message on social media:
“I extend my congratulations to Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and the Council of Ministers for this week’s historic, courageous, and correct decision to commence the full implementation of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, and the Taif Agreement. This week’s cabinet decision has finally implemented the ‘one nation, one army’ solution for Lebanon. We stand with the people of Lebanon.”
Hezbollah stated, following the government’s decision to disarm the Resistance, that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s government has made a grave mistake in taking this step.
The Lebanese government has recently requested the army to draft, by the end of the year, a plan to monopolize arms in the hands of the state and to disarm the Resistance.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah declared that as long as the Zionist regime continues its attacks against Lebanon, the Resistance will reject any timetable for surrendering its weapons.
Yesterday, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, responded to those calling on the Resistance to surrender, stating: “We are slaves to no one.”
He warned that Israel’s interest lies in avoiding a full-scale war, as the Resistance, the army, and the people of Lebanon will stand against any aggression, and the security that the Zionist regime has built over the past eight months could collapse within an hour.
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah stressed that surrendering the Resistance’s weapons will in no way lead to a cessation of aggressions—something that Israeli officials themselves have acknowledged.
