NATO Fully Follows My Orders
In the same interview, he claimed that NATO is completely obedient to the United States, explaining: “A year ago, our country was dead, but today it is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant and dynamic countries in the world. All NATO leaders have told me that they do everything I want.”
Trump also mentioned the praise he has received from the King of Saudi Arabia and the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

35 Percent U.S. Tariffs on Imports from Europe
When asked about his response if the European Union fails to fulfill its investment commitments, the U.S. President said, “Well, then they have to pay a 35 percent import tariff.”
He recalled that after a $600 billion investment by the European Union, tariffs had been reduced, and added: “They lowered the tariffs, invested $600 billion, and then I reduced the tariff from 30 to 15 percent. Then some countries came and asked why the EU pays less tariff than us?”
Threat to Raise Import Tariffs on India over Russian Oil Purchases
Trump also stated that the U.S. intends to significantly increase its tariffs on India within the next 24 hours. He cited India’s purchase of Russian oil as the reason for this decision and said, “We raised tariffs to 25 percent, but I think in the next 24 hours I will increase tariffs much more because they are buying Russian oil.”
The U.S. President specifically threatened India with higher tariffs on its imports, a move that triggered a sharp reaction from New Delhi, with the Indian government describing this potential action as “unfounded and irrational.”
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, “Independent countries have the right to freely choose their trade partners.”
Without naming Trump, he deemed any attempt to force countries to sever trade relations with Russia as “illegal.”
Oil Price Drop Could Force Russia to End Ukraine War
In his interview with CNBC, Trump also spoke about the impact of falling global oil prices, stating: “If oil prices drop by another $10, Russian President Vladimir Putin will have no choice but to stop the war. His economy is in very bad shape.”
Trump’s threats against Putin come amid his repeated admissions that although sanctions will be imposed on Russia, he doubts they will affect Russia’s behavior and policies.
