General Qa'ani Makes Unannounced Visit to Baghdad

Rokna Political Desk – General Esmail Qa'ani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), made an unannounced entry into Baghdad and, during this brief visit, held meetings and discussions with several prominent figures of Iraq’s Shiite Coordination Framework. This move has drawn significant attention from numerous political observers.

Meeting with Shiite Leaders
Informed sources have stated that the meeting lasted approximately ten hours and included notable figures such as Nouri al-Maliki, Ammar al-Hakim, Hadi al-Amiri, and Humam Hammoudi.

The main focus of the discussions was an examination of Iraq’s political situation, regional conditions, and the possibility of introducing changes to political structures, especially in the lead-up to upcoming electoral events. The future formation of new coalitions within Shiite groups was also among the topics addressed.

No Meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister
Of particular note is that Qa'ani did not meet with the Iraqi Prime Minister during this trip. This marks his second visit to Baghdad within the past two months, underscoring the significance of recent interactions between Iran and Iraq.
