Kuwaiti, Afghan FMs Decry Assassination of Iranian Scientist

In separate telephone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad zarif on Monday, the senior Afghan and Kuwaiti diplomats denounced the assassination.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah condemned the “brutal terrorist” act that led to the martyrdom of the eminent Iranian scientist and offered his government’s condolences to the Iranian government and nation over the loss.

In his phone call with Zarif, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Mohammad Hanif Atmar expressed sympathy with the Iranian government and people over the loss of the scholar, saying terrorism is rejected in any shape.  

The two foreign minister s also discussed Iran-Afghanistan bilateral issues, topics relating to a comprehensive cooperation document, inauguration of Khaf-Herat railroad, and water cooperation between the two neighbors.

Fakhrizadeh, a senior nuclear and defense scientist, was assassinated in a small city east of Tehran on November 27.

In remarks on Monday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said it has become clear to Tehran that Munafeqin (Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization terrorists), the Zionist regime, and its spy service Mossad have been behind the assassination attack.
